Introduced Big Papi’s Kitchen Burrito with David Ortiz. Raised $20,000 for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund

Closed Cleveland Circle near Boston College after 18 years. When our sales started dropping after Chipotle a few doors down sickened the BC Basketball team and 100+ students, and people mistakenly linked Chipotle’s issues to Boloco (!), we knew it was time to let the lease go and move on. We had actually thought that we might see a sales spike due to our safety track record. Regardless, it was a terrific 18 years!

Our friends at B.Good purchased 5 of our restaurants allowing us to further tighten our operations and push for a financial turnaround. Here’s the video with John Pepper and Anthony Ackil from B.Good talking about the transition. No team members from Boloco were left behind during the transition period. We upset many fans in those locations but were it not for B.Good purchasing those locations when they did Boloco could not have survived the winter of 2016-2017.

We were so grateful for the many thousands of loyal guests of the following restaurants:

  • Northeastern University (2000-2016)
  • Natick, MA (2007-2016)
  • Wellesley, MA (2012-2016)
  • Concord, NH (2008-2016)
  • Burlington, VT (2007-2016)
